The
Millbury Monsoon Hall of Fame honors those players that have earned the
highest level of recognition for their outstanding performance,
dedication,
and commitment to excellence. We bestow this honor upon players that
have been on the team for at least three years, and have ended their

DEVON LONDON (Safety/Wide Receiver : 2002 - 2004)
Devon was a
tremendous all around athlete who could win a game with a big play on
offense or defense. He played football at division
1-AA University of Rhode Island and when he set foot on the field in
the Central Mass Flag Football League he was a man among
boys. Opposing offenses would not throw the ball in his
direction. In three years on the Monsoon he pulled 29 flags,
broke up 13 passes, had 8 interceptions and returned 2 of those
interceptions for touchdowns. As a part time offensive player
he averaged 16.5 yards per catch with 38 receptions for 627 yards and
12 touchdowns. In 2002 he was voted MVP and
co-offensive player of the year for the Monsoon by his teammates.
One of Devon's most memorable moments was in week 3 of 2002 against the
defending champions, Mac's Place. Just before halftime with
the Monsoon leading 7-3, Devon intercepted a pass in the end zone and
raced 82 yards for the score. Millbury went on to beat Mac's
Place for the first time in their history and never lost to them
again. That one play, in that one game, helped legitimize the
Millbury Monsoon as a permanent upper division contender.
Devon
set team records in 2002 with 3 touchdown receptions in a game as well
as the longest interception return in team history. He was
also an essential part of 1 Community League championship team and 2
City League championship teams.

ANDY FLYNN (Wide Receiver : 1998 - 2000)
Arguably
the best wide receiver the Central Mass Flag Football League
has ever seen. Andy holds multiple receiving records for the
Monsoon. He epitomized the phrase "game breaker ".
One of
his most memorable moments was catching a game winning touchdown with
no time on the clock only to have it called back for spiking the
ball. The down was replayed and as the offense broke the
huddle
Andy let the opposition know it was the same play and he was getting
the ball. That being said, Andy still caught the game winning
touchdown on the final play.
Andy was a crucial member of 2
Community League championship teams. |

GREGG
JACOBSON (Tight End : 1995 - 2001)
When it comes to
tight ends there are few players who
have played in
this league who were as dominant and respected as "Jake".
Whether
he was fighting through double coverage to catch a pass or dominating
opposing linemen while pass protecting, very few gave as much and
played as hard as Jake.
An unforgettable moment was during a game
where he was consistently knocking the opposing lineman on the
ground. At one point the opposing lineman started yelling out
loud and cursing at himself and saying how Jake wasn't that good.
Jake's response to him the next time they lined head up on each other
was "Imagine what I'd be doing to you if I wasn't so tired from playing
both ways".
Jake was an invaluable member of 3 Community League
championship teams. |
