Unbeaten Streak Ends......for Millbury

The two longest winning streaks in the league collided Monday night.  Millbury had a 5 game winning streak and the Wreckin Crew had a 9 game unbeaten streak.  Both defenses started the game on high notes, each intercepting a pass on the other teams first offensive series.  After the turnovers, the Millbury offense struck first.  Millbury quarterback Josh Ducharme connected with DJ Trudell on a 7 yard post corner route in the back of the end zone.  The extra point failed and Millbury had a 6-0 lead.   The Wreckin Crew led by quarterback Diego McClain and wide receiver Kevin Mulready managed to answer to tie the game late in the 1st half.  The key play in the 2nd half happened on the opening kickoff.  Millbury looked like they had the return stopped inside the Wreckin Crew 5 yard line but the return man slipped away and managed to get inside the Millbury 20.  It was all downhill from there for the Monsoon as the Crew scored a few plays later and the Monsoon never recovered.
